Halloween

We had a fun Halloween party this year. I don't know how many little kids were here...but every one was the cutest in the whole world! I love to get all our friends together on one of the darkest nights of the year and fill it with love, laughter and good food! I forgot to get my camera out, so this is the tail end of the party with a few stragglers still left after trick or treating. I love this group of kiddos!
Our little pirate and mermaid

I tried in vain to get Harvey back in his pumpkin suit for the pictures, but the sugar levels were just to high!!

Let your light of Christ shine especially on the darkest of nights!

First day of school...first haircut...first words

Well, we had a busy week. Max started preschool on Wednesday. He decided to walk with his dad and off he went on his scooter. He had a great time and can't wait to go back. He is already collecting all his treasures to take to show and tell.
He never looked back...such a big boy!
Lucy gave herself her very first haircut. My oh My! We're off to the beauty parlor.
BEFORE
AFTER
Ahhh...much better

I couldn't leave Harvey out of our week of "firsts" so I captured some of his first and favorite words on film. He's mimicking and saying more and more every day.

Buckaroo Max

The Rodeo comes to Lynden once a year. It's the highlight of the summer for my little Buckaroo. Max and his Grandpa don their cowboy gear and saddle the stands to see how many knucklehead cowboys they can count.

Max told me cowboys do not smile for pictures.

Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday...look out. Here come the Jones boys. Thanks for the new duds, Grandpa!

GIANT trampoline

The sun has finally made its way to Bellingham and in keeping with our summer tradition we decided to go all out for Lucy's birthday. Lucy got a GIANT trampoline for turning three. (well she's not quite three yet, but soon and we just couldn't store this thing). Did I mention it's GIGANTIC! The kids have been outside jumping for five straight days. They hit their pillows so hard at night, they're snoring before we walk out the door.
I love Lucy's trampoline do.
around and around
right into the sprinkler
Harvey and I sit on the edge and try to avoid injuries.

I think she likes her present. Its hard to tell, she's so shy. :)
I expect we'll be here for most of the summer working on our calves. So if you need us or a good work out come on by. We'll even put the sprinkler on for you.

In the Nick of Time

I think Harvey's walking has come just in the nick of time. I won't say he is fat...maybe " big boned" :)

Well, our sweet baby Harvey is WALKING! Here's the proof. He and Max can often be caught sword fighting which I tried to catch on camera for you, but of course as soon as I got the camera out, Harvey got distracted from his battle.

Camera Overload

The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately. We have been outside as much as possible soaking in some much needed rays.

Harvey is an outdoors man If anyone opens the door...he's making a break for it.

Attempting to capture one of Lucy's favorite new hobbies, feeding Harvey, my camera sent me a little message....MEMORY CARD FULL. We all have our shortcomings...mine may be neglecting my camera and consequently this blog. My saving grace is these kids are so darn cute, you'll probably look anyway. If you're dedicated you can go all the way back to Christmas.

Harvey's First Birthday

Harvey is one. His claim to fame is 27 lbs! He is gaining on Lucy daily, but she still has two pounds on him. His triple layer cupcake should do the trick.

This guy knows how to have a good time
oops. maybe that was a bit to much

Max's 4th Birthday

Our Max is four! Arrrrgh! He had a pirate themed party.
Max led his fearless crew on a search of Little Squalicum Beach, treasure map in hand
They found the X and put their shovels to work
TREASURE!!!
We came home to a pirate cake
It was a jolly good day

Newton Christmas

We had several Christmas celebrations this year. Here are a few highlights from Elisa's side of the family. The kids put on a little Nativity play and guess who was baby Jesus? Little tiny Harvey Jack.
Max played Joseph and poor Lucy was cut out after several passionate tantrums over not getting to play Mother Mary

Stockings with the cousins at Ama and Papa's house
We went to visit my Grandma in her new home and Lucy found a dancing Santa in her living room
It was very exciting
Great Grandma Robben spoiled Lucy with some precious jewels for Christmas

Christmas Morning

This is Christmas morning. It was our first Christmas morning with no relatives. It was a bit lonely, but we managed.

Love this book! Thanks Uncle Andrew and Aunt Sara!

Merry Christmas
